About Us and Our Methodology
ABOUT US
Based in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., Celebrate!ADHD is the nation's only educational organization that provides science-based training for educators, parents and children affected by ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, Autism, Sensory Integration, Oppositional Defiance, Anxiety Disorder, OCD and other learning or emotional disabilities.
With clients in all fifty states and twelve countries including Great Britain, Germany, Japan, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, Norway and South Africa, Celebrate!ADHD enjoys an international reputation for research-driven solutions. Celebrate!ADHD has equipped over 22,000 educators, parents and children with proactive tools for success.
Executive Director Kirk Martin and Education Director Edward Hallsey, Ph.D. have collaborated with Dr. Howard Glasser and leading education experts serving on the President’s Commission on Excellence in Special Education (PCESE) to develop the trademarked Proactive Needs Therapy™.
METHODOLOGY
The methodological underpinning of Proactive Needs Therapy™ is a cutting-edge combination of advanced scientific and empirical research. We arduously comb research journals for the latest scientific research revealing new understandings of the intricate and complex workings of the human brain.
But we don’t stop there, because this research doesn’t tell the whole story. We combine this scientific understanding with empirical insight based on interaction with hundreds of children. We continually apply the latest research to several layers of teaching modules within the fluid environment of actual classrooms, playgrounds, homes and camps.
This is not theory—we are educators ourselves. We spend over 200 days each year actively educating children from across the nation and world through our award-winning camps.
The result is transformation and lasting change.
